This Campaign's Focus

Election Integrity

The county Auditor serves the community to protect secure elections and ensuring all county election processes follow Washington State law.

Election integrity is absolutely fundamental to our democracy, and Callie promises to safeguard our elections, work towards improved public trust in our systems, and protect every eligible citizen's right to vote-by-mail.

Spokane County has a strong history of secure election administration. Callie will protect that record by supporting accurate processes, providing independent oversight, and ensuring every eligible voter can participate with confidence.

Accurate, Accessible Record Keeping

While the Recording department might not be as "hot" as elections, it is just as, if not, important. We still use documents from the founding of our county in 1858, and this office exists to ensure public records are stored efficiently, accessibly, and preserved in perpetuity.

In these times, it is imperative that every resident can trust that their information is protected, that their public records are accurately stored, and the necessary safeguards are in place to protect private, sensitive data. Callie is committed to making sure the county government keeps this promise to our community.

Fiscal responsibility

The Financial Services office exists to make sure the public can trust their county is efficiently and diligently stewarding their tax dollars, by providing an annual financial report to the state, and only a trained accountant can responsibly sign off on this.

Callie believes that public money should serve the public, every resident, not just the well-connected. Every resident also deserves to know exactly how their money is being spent without digging through endless pages of data. Callie is committed to accessible and easy to understand reporting on the county's financial health.

After all, she's spent her early career translating complex financial situations into deliverables that an average contractor can easily understand.

Efficient services for every community

In rural counties like Spokane, public services can be difficult to access for some. But it is 2026, we live in a different world than we did 10 years ago. Callie promises to bring a fresh perspective, to be an active listener and problem solver, engage with our community in meaningful ways, and improve accessibility and efficiency in our services.

Callie wants every resident to understand how their money is used and to trust that county resources are being delivered efficiently fairly to all communities. She will implement a streamlined reporting call/text line to ensure all community and county employee concerns are lifted up and addressed.

What does the county auditor do?

In short, the Auditor is responsible for keeping the county's financial and public records accurate and accessible to the public, protecting election security, and improving processes to be as efficient as possible.

An important part of this job is assessing how the county government is working, recommending solutions, and seeing them through. This requires actively listening to the community, and voices of county employees. They are often the first to know exactly where systems need improvement. Callie promises to lift up and investigate concerns from all community members through a streamlined reporting process.

The Spokane County Auditor oversees four divisions: Recording, Financial Services, Motor Vehicle Licensing, and Elections. From handling the county's entire accounting system, tracking how tax dollars are collected and spent, maintaining official county documents, publishing an annual financial report that gets reviewed by the State Auditor's Office, processing payroll, vehicle licenses, and ensuring county elections run according to law, it's one of the broadest reaching jobs in the county. It deserves someone who takes that seriously.
